289 intake bolt washers
« on: October 18, 2016, 05:48:50 PM »
All, I am curious what is the correct washers to use on a '67 289 intake manifold bolt.   My originals appear to have an aluminum washer.  NPD sells a rubber coated washer.  Which is correct?  Car details in signature.
Thanks
John

John,
The original washers were "rubber" coated aluminum to seal the few bolt holes that are open to the water passages.  The coating on yours has worn off over time and use.  It doesn't take much to separate the rubber and I doubt they were ever intended to be used more than once.
The washers we have are US-made by the original supplier to Ford.
