No reproduction 1968 Consoles-what are my options?
« on: September 19, 2016, 02:28:36 PM »
My '68 GT Fastback came with a parchment interior with console. I have plastic shards and some grimy padding from the original console, but it's entirely unrestorable. Looking around it doesn't look like anyone makes the '68 consoles. Is there a company that turns the reproduction '67 ones into correct looking '68 consoles?

If not I assume '68s are often missing their consoles since originals are rare (especially in parchment) and usually not in great shape.

Any thoughts or advice is welcome.

You can modify a 67 base console to work on a 68, but there is no reproduction of the 68 pads as far as I know.  You're only option is to find an original decent enough to use/restore.
