While refurbishing a late 1966 harness recently, I came across an unusual feature: the underdash harness had a male bullet plug for the ground lead to the CVR. Normally, this is a female spade connector, usually exposed. That portion of the harness was untouched, and the ground wire on the other end did end up in the proper ring lug. As best as I could tell, it was not butchered.
Did Ford ever install a CVR with a female bullet connector hanging off of it for the ground point? I cut the wire and installed the correct fitting, as I've never seen any CVR's for sale with the female bullet connector on it.
