I've resolved the issue of these reproduction tags Peeling themselves back off now. Part of the probem is the material the tags are printed on.
Thanks for all the suggestions. I ended up resorting to a product I have on hand...a 3'wide roll of two-sided industrial tape (not sure where I happened across this, but it has proven handy over the years
)
First of all, as I said, the reproduction tags have a PAPER layer between the orignal-looking tag and the adhesive layer. This paper layer is adding to the trouble...The process of making these tags stay "stuck" works best if the paper layer is mostly removed first. I found if I stuck the replacement Harness tag to a clean surface and peeled it off (using a sharp edge of a single edge razor knife), the supplied adhesive part sicks well to another surface and you should be able to peel off the outer wiring tag down through the center of the paper layer, leaving 1/2 of the paper layer and the supplied (lousy) adhesive stuck to that other surface. Now I simply stuck the new tag (or label) to the back-side of the industrial two-sided tape and trimmed it (careful to not remove the jagged edge of the new wiring tags since they match very well to the original tag's dispenser-torn edge
) Then simply peel off the two-sided tape protective layer and installed.
