Topic: 67 Deluxe seat detail

I am impressed by the level of detail that Ford did in the 60s. On the 67 deluxe saddle interior every piece of upholstery is medium saddle except for one small panel at the back of the bottom bucket seat. IMO this was done to match the dark seat hard back which was also dark brown. I would assume that this was also done on other colors that were not two tone. I think that this is a very cool detail and a great way to spot original upholstery and as no surprise the reproductions leave off this detail.
I saved my original panels and plain to have them sewn in to my covers.

Believe that picture was to show how the reproduction covers are made (no detail) and a contrast to the second picture (original cover over that same seat)

Or what I'm seeing is different from what you saw when you replied

Marty don't recall ever seeing backs that dark - might just be my monitor settings. Will look through my pictures to see if I have another example with that interior in 67

Sorry my first picture was fuzzy I was trying to hold a light and take a picture. It was of the reproduction.

Yes Jeff those are dark but original and they seem to match the carpet and dash. This is a San Jose car 11-04-66

I just happed to work on a red set today that also has the darker panel. It also seems to have a different vinyl pattern that the rest of the seat.

I'm looking for an original 67 deluxe seat back panel black driver side in (very) good condition (no cracks.....)
May smb has such a part in the dark to sell it

Don't doubt they were darker looking at yours and others I found in my collection the contrast is just much IMHO greater than the other color choices that year so it really stands out. Sorry don't have any pictures of the material with the seats folded forward. Not a surprise unfortunately

Believe its the color Ford choose sine the side panels to the inside and outside are the lighter version as seen on the forward area of the bottom cushion and face of the back outer detail/panels

I am at no means an expert...
So I couldn't tell if my seat is original 
I have looked also at the back (folddown)seat, found the rotation number (at the passenger side), and it is the same material as the front seats...
in attachment a couple of other pictures, with the seat folded forward, like Jeff asked/suggested.
I have the Ivy Gold interior color, so the back of the front seats are in dark green (not black).
I hope this answers a few of your questions?
