Real or re stamp?
1969 Shelby GT350 convertible  4spd-AC built 1-27-69

I'd say re stamp. Factory stamps are done with the distributor held in a jig and would not necessitate a re stamp. It almost looks like D2OF. But I don't see any sanding of the # pad which is what some scammers try to do when doing a re stamp. Then sand down most of the Eng. # but leave tell tale signs of the original# then stamp over it. Don't know why they tried to stamp over the Z. Date code is a little sketchy too. Maybe sone else can chime in on this one. Heres a re stamp below.

Looks like a just plane sloppy stamping. A bad day on the distributor line.

You take a 351W 2V distributor and make a Boss 302 distributor out of it by some fast footwork, sure.

I agree. For whatever reason they got a light hit on the first attempt. (Let go of the button too soon, didn't have it positioned in the tool properly, etc.) So they repositioned it slightly and cycled the die a second time.

Good eye.  That upside down 8 and the double stamping would make me hesitant to invest much time or money in this one.  Just me,  Brian

Looks ok to me many were double struck. It is almost impossible to restamp these and get it right as evidenced by the Boss sample. They have to grind them and the pad never looks the same. The tall letter Z is unique to Ford stamps as well.

Looks fine to me, I've seen a lot of double stamps on original distributors, and that one isn't near rare enough to spend a ton of time on. The "12127" isn't flattened by sanding either...
