68 NJ fender finish
« on: March 28, 2016, 11:49:40 AM »
I understand that the engine bay and outer aprons are to be finished in a semi-gloss black.
What is the finish on the inside of the out fenders?
Thanks
Dave

To accurately answer this question, you'll need to supply more information, when & where was this 68 built? (what month/year and at which assembly plant)

The wheel side of the inner fender panels and shock towers (both side were painted semi-gloss black (likely with the same product at the same station or the one next to it) as the engine compartment paint. Basically the outer facing surface was painted from where the splash shield on the passenger side (not in place yet just a descriptive point) around the inners, around the radiator support face and to the future drivers side splash shield location. Over sealers both bushed and some sprayed

Of course over this - once the car was completely assembled (minus front wheel and tires) the sound deadener was applied in the front wheel wells. Approx 50% plus of the surface was typically covered in that area
