I was wondering what the correct numbers are for a 1966 San Jose build Coupe 200cid, stamped on the trunk lid.
Mine shows 5 26 3

When was the car built?  That is the date code, May 26th.  3rd shift  I believe

You trunk lid should be fine. Gives it a couple weeks before the scheduled build date.

Well let me respond this way. Looking at other original cars I have records from with projected build dates around yours - your 5 26 3 stamping of the trunk lid would fit the pattern seen. So your in the range


Looks like your car might ahve been built around the time San Jose guessed it would - but that is only one of many many panels that make up your car
