Motorola Radio
« on: May 20, 2016, 01:43:09 AM »
I recently bought a '1970' AM/FM radio and was surprised to see that it was manufactured by Motorola. I am assuming that its a later service replacement unit?
Are they any better, sound wise, over the original 1970 units?

Motorola made radios for Ford assembly line installation and also made the same radios to be sold to the public directly. The main difference is the assembly line radios say Ford, the others say Motorola. There was another difference, the ones sold directly were 25 to 50 percent cheaper.

I see that Ford was charging everyone a premium for their Corporate Logo back then. :)
