Topic: Best Source For A '66 Carburetor - no core

My carburetor has sat too long and needs work.  The current carb on the car is a Motorcraft replacement and not the correct Autolite C6DF-E.  If I'm going to spend money on it I might as well try to find a correctly restored/rebuilt carb.  The car is a '66 San Jose build with a 289 C code engine w/Thermactor and the 3 speed manual transmission. 

I've searched the archives on here and a couple of the rebuilders listed are no longer in service.  I'm reluctant to use e-bay for fear of not receiving the correct carburetor

Be sure how to ask any of these places how they restore carbs.  It seems the norm for production shops to bead blast the carb body, completely ruining the original appearance.  Also have seen really bad "plating" being done and also incorrect plating.  Some good posts here discussed in the past regarding proper finishes on carbs and parts.
