A little bit of a tangent - Scott and Kerry (possibly others too) have posted photos of snorkels that had the part number ink-stamped. Some on top, others on the bottom (see attached). Did all snorkels get a part number marked, and what was the typical placement, if any?

All ?   IMHO No

On the ones that were stamped believe the practice was normally on the bottom. But like restored alternators, coils, many other items restorers often want to show off the details or what they spent money on so they make them more visible applying them in non-factory locations :(
