Lower dash and A/C vent question
« on: December 04, 2015, 11:06:39 PM »
Were the lower dash and A/C vents perfectly matching colors? I have repainted the lower dash with the correct factory light blue paint. I am in the process of replacing the felt in the A/C vents. The original paint in the vent portion is perfect. I'd like to just keep it that way. The colors look very close but not exact. I'm assuming this will actually look more correct than painting them with the same can to match 100%. Thoughts??

Do you happen to be doing a Cougar?

The lower dash and the lower AC surrounds, both being Dark Charcoal Metallic on a 69-70 Mustang with blue interior should be a pretty close match IMHO

Here is a few examples of the area on original cars.

I'm doing a cougar.

Though that might be the answer - though we do see Mustang owners from time to time mess this one up since you don't see many that were not black inside ;)

In your case - basically the same answer. The cups are the same color as the lower metal dash section. Just paint them with the same paint if you have some after prepping the plastic
