Topic: Yellow (gold) plated carburetor parts.

Lately I see beautiful "concours" restored 2100 and 4100 Autolites with lots of yellow or gold plated parts. Almost every part which is not made of alumium is plated in that color: choke and throttle plates, linkages and even the air cleaner stud. Is this concours correct or just for the looks?

It is mostly correct.

Can you elaborate, Charles? As far as I know, the Idle speed screw/spring and the carb stud should not be in that finish.

Idle screw and spring are typically zinc dichromate.

Otherwise, couple minor observations:

-Primary throttle shaft return spring is typically light blue color, almost like silver blue.
-Accelerator pump cover and secondary pump cover should be more of a natural color (not the holley style)
-Hard to tell in the pics, but the butterfly shaft should be brass
