How to find 1st owner?
« on: September 07, 2015, 01:00:12 PM »
Hi folks,
do you have any good ideas how to find the (first) owner of my car? I just have the VIN and the warranty Nr..... thats all.
The car was sold in Dallas TX, and now the pony found his new home in Germany.

Any ideas?

Thanks

If your car is 67 or later, a Marti report will tell you which dealership bought the car.  The dealer MIGHT have records of who bought the car.

There are also an excellent car detective I have used several times, it costs some money, but he can find records better than anyone can.  PM me if interested in a contact.
I don't always downshift, but when I do it is near a Prius so they can hear me hurting the environment.

Yes, its a 67. I will get a Marti Report and see... but if you can send me an info about the detective it would be cool.

A lot of dealerships from back then aren't around still and I've found that if they are they don't have records that far back. However there are companies that specialize in title work. I used one here in TX to track down original and subsequent owners through a title search with the state - usually a fee involved. Will send you the contact.
