Magnum 500 Center Cap w/ Frod Oval, was this ever OE on a Mustang?

Bought a used set of 14x7 Magnums with this Ford Oval center cap.  Would this cap ever have been OE on a Mustang?  If not what would this cap have come on?

Don't recall seeing these on any Ford - not even sure if they were made for Magnums. Could be something made for the center of a hubcap like the ones used on the simulated deep dish 70 hubcaps. Hopefully someone will remember seeing them - from the emblem design would guess 80's

Might want to check for a engineering number cast into the back side of the cap
