Topic: 69 Folddown Seat Panel Installation

I am installing my 69 fiberglass fold down seat panels and have a question regarding rivet use. In the 1970 interior assembly manual (I do not have the 69 version), it shows a rivet inserted in the top intersection of the quarter panel trim, the panel that runs under the back window, and then  into the body metal around the trap door opening. The metal on my car does not have a hole in that intersection location, it has holes for two rivets on the vertical section and two rivets horizontally along the window trim piece. Can anyone help clarify the rivet locations for a 69.

Would not trust the assembly manual with was actually done by the workers in each individual plants

With that said - I don't have allot of clear pictures of those corners on 69 Dearborn cars with fold downs - wish I had more to help

Picked through and found a few pretty clear pictures I hope will help. Passenger side looks to be the most difficult to see since the support bracket is welded close to that area

To me it looks like they tried to most of the time - at least one worker didn't get the memo

Thanks for the photos. I looked at my car again and there is no hole in the metal for that corner rivet so I'll go without out it as confirmed by the photos.
