Author Topic: 65 strut mark/stamp orientation?  (Read 871 times)

65 strut mark/stamp orientation?

My struts ready to be put back on and I noticed about an inch long stamped raised line on one side of each strut, near the bolt hole end.  I assume the line indicates the top or the bottom side of the strut, and I'd guess top.  Would appreciate knowing for sure.

On my car that line is at the control arm/steering stop end and is on the down side ?    Brian

that mark faces downward.

Yes, that end bolts to the control arm along with the strut steering stops.  I'm trying to do a complete restore with as much original as possible but didn't notice the markings until off.  Appreciate the help.
