1966 Heater Hose Original vs Re-pro.

Hi all, I'm new to posting on the  the forum. Have been a flower for some time. I'm working on a 66' coupe form SJ. The projected build date is 06/13/66 with a unit number of 215000 and is a "C" code engine w/smog pump.  I'm installing my rebuilt heater box with Marti Auto Works Re-Pro heater hoses. When I run the hoses through the fire wall,there is a small gape where the hoses run through the fire wall. Is this a common thing with the re-Pro hoses and the  original hoses ?  What is the Assembly line practice for sealing off the gape where the hoses run through the fire wall ? If at all possible, when anyone responds. Can I get some pictures to see what to do?

Welcome to the forum. You must have been "lurking" as you used all the prerequisites to determine an answer. Ford used sealant around all holes the entered the passengers' compartment for "wet" stuff and "gases". For the heater hoses thru the firewall, the best you can use is 3M Strip Caulk.
I recommend that you get a set of the Osborn Assembly Manuals for your year car, plus the 64-65 Chassis and Weld/Sealant Manuals. They are about 90 percent accurate and at least you can refer to a page with a drawing about a question.

+1 . To add, yes the original hoses were slightly larger diameter in comparison to the good reproduction or later service replacement hose that is available on the secondary market from time to time. The original assemblyline hose however was loose in the hole too just not as loose. It was most likely not very tight for ease of installation IMO.

Thanks for the info on the Osborn Weld & Sealant manual. I'll put it on my next order. Some times the pictures in the books that I have now, are not that easy to figure out small details. I look forward to the help the forum has to offer. Thanks ALL...
