Intermediate brake line to body clips
« on: November 03, 2015, 01:56:03 PM »
I'll admit I have not taken a close look at this, but I'm going to replace my intermediate brake line (the one that goes under the car from front to rear) and was wondering how the 3 or 4 clips work that hold the line to the tunnel. Is this a clip that can be taken off and re-used or am I going to need new clips to properly re-install the brake line?
Accurate looking but not a Concours Restoration/build. See my build photo gallery at 69GT350 Hertz Build

I've reused them before - allot easier to remove since (with the interior out) you can get to the other end of each. But normally the plating is gone along with the sealant applied to the shaft. They will normally look old, used and recycled unless you go through the process of restoring them.

So they will look as if I had left them alone?   :P  :P Ok, let me see what it takes to get them out and what they look like. Is the brake line in place when the tunnel gets the sound deadening sprayed in?

You can spread the "wings" by spreading the two ears from the bottom with a flat screw driver (reverse the steps it takes to install them) and squeeze together the interlocking ears inside the car and they should pull out from the bottom of the car.

On Mach I's., Grandes and Shelbys for 69-70
