Topic: PCV Logo ID ?

     I have two PVC's; one is a C8OE-6A666-B has a patent number and logo.  The logo is a segmented circle with a S, S and C in each segment.  Maker and app ?  The second has the same logo but is a C7AE-6A666-B.  Maker and App ?  The C8 is currently in my 69.  Thanks,  Brian

Believe that design indicates the provider. If we use other parts as an indicator when Ford needed parts made (especially during the years following production) contracts were given to suppliers for a certain number of parts so the number of different producers/providers marks could be great if you look across maybe 30-40 years of a part being available across the counter at the Ford dealer.

Don't know - if the design you posted is one of the original providers or one that followed. I do have a number of NOS ones (different applications also) with that same mark

Can't confirm if its assembly line or not - just that they provided some of the service replacements. Guess I could check some of the box dates. Not that that is an exact science that would apply directly on the part.

Jeff don't bother it is just a curiosity question.  I usually find, on my car anyway, that if an engine part is stamped C6OA, C7AE, C8OE C9OA or C9OE it is an original Ford part and installed on the assembly line.  Brian

The SSC logo represents the Standard Screw Company. Not only did they make this PCV and many others, they invented it. On the other side you should find a patent number, 3263699. That's their patent for an automatic variable-flow PCV.

That one is really clean. Is it used, or NOS? The finish on both valves looks dark; can you tell what it is? Or is it just the lighting in the photos?

Used part.  Cleaned with a tooth brush and some gasoline .  Actually the upper valve body is silver as the part stuck in the valve cover is dark.  Brian

The C8 BB and C9 SB PCV valves I have seen were Black oxide and not silver. It is the C5,C6 and C7 ones that I have seen silver. Others may have seen different.

Since we've moved on to finish - I've got C5ZZ in both black oxide and zinc/cad (likely two different suppliers - AC was one of them)  as well as D0AZ-6A666-A in Black Oxide.
