67 GTA 390 Hood Pins...Aftermarket???
« on: May 13, 2015, 02:06:45 AM »
I have a 1967 S code GTA fastback with the Exterior Decor Group.  It has Shelby-style hood pins that I assume are aftermarket.  Did these 67, non-Shelby cars ever come from the factory with hood pins?

No, they never did.  Welcome to the site.

For 67 the Exterior Décor included the vented hood, bright wheel lip moldings, bright moldings on trunk lid and end caps, and rocker panel moldings (although rocker panel moldings were standard on the fastback)

No hood pins on the 67 Mustangs from the factory.

John, you forgot the pop-open gas cap as part of the exterior decor group.

Pete Morgan

Wait, I thought rocker moldings were still an option aside from the Exterior Décor group.  I have a '67 coupe with Exterior Décor, and it did not have rocker moldings.
Too much junk, too little time.

Dog gone, I was wrong again, twice in one post.  Per the attached, the rocker panel moldings were not part of the Exterior Decor option.  They were separate, but standard with the 2+2 (unless we are talking about the Shelby fastback, which did not get the moldings, but that is a different topic).

See the attached files.

No worries, it really is confusing.

Am I incorrect in saying that all Fastbacks (not shelby)  had the trunk and quarter trim? IS THIS POSSIBLY 3 in ONE POST? No, Please say it isn't so!

Actually, I caught these ommition of details before any other replies...I've actually been awaiting John's humble response. (or correction) I KNOW he KNOWS these details, beyond a doubt I know he knows...But I wanted to see how I could have a little fun with it :o...SO, I waited  ;D  8)

Step 1. open unhealed wound
Step 2. insert copious amounts of salt
Step 3. rub it in
Step 4. stand back and laugh
