Topic: Strut Rod Threads - What size - 68

I want to chase the threads with a die, but they do not appear to be anything standard.  I have determined that the thread pitch is 18 for all 3 nuts including the castle net.  The main nuts are slightly bigger than 5/8?  The castle nut is slightly bigger than 1/2".

11/16 if I recall correctly.  I have quite a few personally, and access to a machine shop at work (with dies upwards of 5") and found none, so it is not a normal part of any kit.  Bought on eBay for about $10.  When I get home I'll post the specifics unless someone else gets to it first.

You might consider the Forum's Library. In the topic titled "Mustang Hardware Spreadsheet 67-68 -"

- you will find two spreadsheets, one by part number, the other by application. If you down load the application version and scan down to "Strut Rod", you will find the associated hardware involved including the nut used on the end. Go from there.

I'm embarrassed    to admit that I downloaded that file a couple weeks ago.  Had the answer all the time and never knew it.

Glad to help out. If you find something amiss or are looking for another area to have me "attempt" to document don't hesitate. I used my own file here last month to make up a pick list to replace a sway bar on a 66 Hardtop (mine). There's no such thing as too much information, there is too little time to sift thru it though.
