64 1/2 D Code With 9,975 Miles at Barrett-Jackson

http://www.barrett-jackson.com/Events/Event/Details/1965-FORD-MUSTANG-CONVERTIBLE-184217

Anyone know this car or have any thoughts.  May 1964 Car with under 10k Miles although from the look of the pictures it seems the car
has had a complete restoration.  Says the color is poppy red but I'm not sure if that was available when this car was built?  I'm going to down
Barrett-Jackson, hopefully will see the car, the vin # is 5F08D125019.

Thanks
Eric

Interesting Autolite marking on the Generator Splash Sheild, never seen that before...

Some extra stickers (shock tower, air cleaner) that may indicate a previous restoration, but considering it's 25000 into production, perhaps possible...

Nicely presented early car though, I'd be expecting sale to be around the $40k mark.

It sure does look like it's sitting high in the back.
Too much junk, too little time.

Signs of a poor restoration IMHO or at least very poor research

The decal (Ford didn't use decals;)  on the generator cover is for a later cars voltage regulator. Guess they bought a kit and had to stick every decal some place  ::)

Wonder how much other items and details follow the same pattern

Unfortunately full restorations on very low mileage cars has become pretty common - making IMHO the low mileage unimportant once everything has been apart and refinished

I saw this car at BarrettJackson.  I couldn't find the owner.  But there was a sign by the car that said it was a survivor and unrestored, orig paint etc...  Personally,
it looked way too clean, there were very few blemishes in the paint, car was very clean underneath  I have a bunch of pics if anyone is curious.  The car sold for
$31k.
