Topic: AC Compressor Bracket

I need a compressor bracket for my 64.5 mustang 260 with ps and generator.  I believe the correct fit is part # c4za-2882-b.  I can't find that one but do see a fairlane/falcon 3coe-2882-b for sale.  Wondering if the compressor will line up properly and clear the hood with the 3coe bracket.  Thanks in advance for enlightening me.

I don't have an answer but am looking into it. The C4 Part Number, per the Master Parts Catalog, is correct for your application but nothing to show that the C3 will interchange. I'll let you know either way what, if anything, I find.

The Ford Master Cross Reference List from April, 1964 lists many entries for basic 2882. The only ones relevant to your question appear to be:

Known P/N        Parts & Acc or Eng P/N
C3AZ-2882-A     C3OE-2882-B
C3OE-2882-B     C3AZ-2882-A

C4ZA-2882-B     C5ZZ-2882-A
C5ZZ-2882-A     C4ZA-2882-B

Note how the listings are "paired", because you can search for either p/n in the "known" column.

So, it's not looking good for the C3OE-B (at least per Ford engineering), but it gives you the C5ZZ-A as an alternative to look for.

The c4za-2882-b bracket is the correct one. It is made to work with the unique power steering bracket for 64 1/2 mustangs when they have both air and power steering. Before I found the correct bracket, I tried the 63 bracket and it doesn't work with the ps bracket. The correct ps and ac brackets share parts for mounting to the engine. There are posts on this from prior discussions.
