Question about 69 body colored wheels
« on: April 01, 2015, 11:35:50 AM »
A question concerning the steel wheels.  Are any of the Ford 1969 steel wheels including the gt styled wheels ever painted the body color? I have a 69 sportsroof L code six cylinder.  Dearborn.

I think that they did if the car was equipped with 'poverty' caps. The very small diameter caps that barely cover the lug nuts.

As Scott wrote - standard (non- styled steel wheels) could be body color if originally ordered with no hubcap upgrades of any sorts. Sometimes we see originals cars with other hubcaps but those have always turned out to be something the dealer up sold to the first buyer once the car got to the dealer
