« on: January 24, 2016, 09:12:51 PM »
Build date of 12-20-68. Posting photos for reference. Enjoy (PS I don't know if everything is correct, but the car is low mile and looks largely untouched)

I love to see that the original lower cowl insulation is still in place and not all deteriorated like they always are!  Nice.

Yes your car in in wonderful condition and thanks for the pictures.  Noted several similarities and would appreciate a larger picture of the shock tower cap including the 2 shock bolts on top.  The right marker light tie strap appears on one photo but just missed the clip or is there a clip ?  Could you expand on that ?  Any sign your car ever had a radiator support weatherstrip ?  Of interest; The fender bolts on my car are the ' anchor '  variety and are different from yours.  Great pictures of the pin stripes.  Brian

Thank you for the kind words.
Brian, I don't see any evidence that this car had a radiator support seal. No marks on the support or hood. The marker lights are clips there, but very close to the marker assembly. Photo of the shock bolts attached, but the shocks and mounting hardware are not the originals..

I also attached a photo of a rubber grommet which is on the hood. It is on the right side only, should it be on both sides?

Don't think I would expect to see a radiator support seal on a small block AC car for that year. Other NJ examples I have didn't show any signs or remains

Don't recall every seeing the rubber grommet on the hood before - wonder if it was added for some reason.

Noticed also not under hood pad/insulation - wonder what happened there

I've seen similar grommets or plugs from paintless dent removal people who can't get their tools behind the dent any other way.

Thanks for the quick reply and photos.  Just curious about the hood seal.  As Jeff mentioned shouldn't have one anyway.  The photo of the marker light clip is pretty much as Jeff has posted and so correct.  I don't like that application much.  Seems to be a pretty sharp bend/angle for the wiring.  The shock tower cap, nuts and top bolts are exactly as has been discussed in another topic and appear to be the correct finish's.  Picture of my fender ' anchor ' bolts.  In case you are wondering what the waffle pattern on the apron edge is ?  Assembly line jig clamps to hold the fender apron in place before welding.  They are in evidence in a few other places on the body as well.  Picture of my hood and the bottom of the hood pin assembly.  My car has had 1 re-paint same color.  Have you had a look for the fender apron VIN stamps yet ? If not I have pictures of where to find them without messing with the fender.  Brian

Brian your hood looks like mine although the backing plants for the hood pins are natural. I have no idea about the hood pad, it may of have one that got ragged or?

Found a photo of the original selling dealer for mine, but it is long gone now, replaced with a fancy workout gym.
