Glove Box Contents 1967
« on: December 26, 2014, 03:58:19 PM »
What would usually be found inside the Glove Box upon delivery of a NEW 67 Mustang, back in the day.

Recent posts in the 69-70 catagory got me wondering.

Items possible? Owners Manual(obvious YES), Temporary Warranty Card(obvious YES), Stereo-Sonic Sample Tape? Inside a Plastic Bag?

These things I would be interested in knowing about. Since I have no original owner information, I can not have a temporary or permanant warranty card. It would be nice to scout for other such items.

Here's the envelope that came in my 1968 coupe.  I keep it in the car with all the original contents in there.

And, here's my original owner's card that is in the envelope.

On the 67's, there is also a "Ford Safety" folder.  When folded out, it said "send Help" in large letters.
Some dealers did not have any courtesy envelopes.

Curiousity lead me to search out images of these items on the internet and I couldn't seem to locate any images older than 1968 model year. MANY 68 and newer images are found without any search effort at all. I did find a 67 Lincoln Mercury warranty booklet dated 1-67. I did not find anything else (though I do not wish this to say it didn't happen)

My question: When did Ford Motor Company begin providing these booklets, were they available from the beginning of the production year or were there running changes? (like everyhthing else in a '67)

Without images easily found OLDER than 1968 model vehicles, I wonder if this could have be one of those "not everywhere" or "not at all factory locations" details or possibly "only after Jan '67" kind of a thing.

Here are the original items found in our 11-04-66 67 GTA convertible. The original plastic sleeve, owners manual, warrantee card, safety card and extra items 67 service booklet, 67 Nebraska drivers manual, Derby service record and old Kmart invoices.
This is one of the more complete 67 folders that I have found.
