Good call on the MPB, it?s called out correctly there for a tilt assembly. The assembly manual seems to lack that detail.
Using the AMK Products Guide to Ford Fasteners.. verified PN 379930-S called out is what I?m looking for.
AMK PN B-10478.  $4 for package.
Thanks for the reminder to double check assembly manual with MPB
I?ll call AMK in the morning and get that added to the order I placed today.

Part numbers are available in this forums library under topic "Mustang Hardware Spreadsheet 67-68". There are two files in that topic, one by part number, PN06 (the 06 is the revision) and the second by use, aka application, AP06. They are keyed to the Mustang Assembly Manuals, which I highly recommend you investing for your car.

1970 Mustang / Re: 1970 trans cross member question

Doesn't make sense (would not be the first time) that the cross member attached to the floor would be different on a Cougar and a Mustang. Wish I had one of each - or either at home to measure real quickly for the discussion. With how popular both cars are one would think that we would have heard similar reports on the forums over the past 40 or so years.

Lets see what others have found

It seems odd to me. I don?t think that anything has been pounded out of shape. I believe that the cross member on my big block Cougar measures 3? across like this one does. The only difference is that the mounting surface that goes around the transmission tunnel and provides a mounting surface for the cross member, is only about 2-1/2? across, leaving about a half inch gap.

Would guess that over the years someone has forced it and in turn bent it. Plenty of opportunities to hammer one of these in place. Guess you have tried but you can't bring the ends in by tightening the attachment bolts enough

Is it over three inches on both ends or only one. Just trying to help by being a sounding board in this current situation

I have noticed there is a hole in some clips and not in the the one I have , would this just be a vendor variance , or revision change , assembly plant difference ?
Thanks Will

Possible a supplier difference. With that in mind then could typically mean that there was more of one suppliers product to use at one specific plant verses another as we've seen and documented like shocks for an easy one. Challenge is collecting and documenting enough to try and draw a conclusion or idea from

General Discussion / Re: Library artuicle on restoring control arms?
« Last post by J_Speegle on March 31, 2025, 11:04:34 PM »
No I don't believe there is one specifically focused on that subject. There are a number of natural metal restoration threads in the general area that touch or include A arms as part of the thread, post and pictures

As usual with any natural non painted/plated items results all depend on how good of a part you start with
