Title: Rubber Shield Fasteners
Post by: imnutz66 on April 07, 2010, 07:54:32 AM
Can someone tell me what fastener was used to install the rubber flap above the rear license plate on 70's? I have the holes there, but the flap was removed by PO along with the fasteners

Thanks, Joe

My 69 vert had philips head screws.  It was original as far as I could tell.  I replaced them with stainless screws when re-assembling.

The ones I have seen are all round head Phillips screws that are very short and have a black phosphate type coating, I am sure AMK fasteners would have them.

This is from a 1969 Dearborn car.  I am sure the original finish was P&O.

That picture is great, I actually have a handful of screws identical to that - if I can just remember exactly where they are!

Those screws look like the screws  at the bottom that hold the interior dash trim pieces of the two in the center (ether side of radio)and two outer trim panels on a 69. AMK sells them. Bob
