Title: '68 Firewall pads
Post by: Oz390 on September 08, 2014, 07:10:33 AM
In restoring a few I have it appears that Dearborn may have used a "spattered" look pad, and San Jose a "dimpled" one.  Consistent on the small sample of 4 I have.

Is this a coincidence, or was this difference applied consistently for these plants for this part?

Like many things - different plants were supplied by different other plants/sub contractors. Firewall pads is just one of many things like this and one of the reasons we always ask about when a car in a posted question was built and when ;)

Other examples would be shocks &  radiators

Yep, know different plant, different times, sometimes different parts.  Just wondered if this was one, as it seemed, and consistent.

Thanks for the replies.
