Have any board members here ever dyno'ed a stove stock 69-70 428 CJ. We all know back then that Ford sandbagged the CJ with 335 hp for Insurance purposes. I've read over the years most stated it was around 400 hp. Anyone have any dyno data on these motors ?
Years ago a friend of mine had a 67 GT500 with 428 P.I. which had the 2x4 carbs stock from Shelby American. It was rated at 355 hp but when he had it dyno'ed at BOCES if yielded 440 hp with stock cam and exhaust system.

Survival Motorsports built a mostly stock (mild cam upgrade) 428 CJ. Here's a link to the dyno pull.
They achieved 450 HP and 479 lbs. Not bad for old iron. I love the comment at the end of the video.

Thankx for posting that vid. Ford was definitely sandbagging on that one. I know it was for insurance reasons but Chevrolet didn't lose sleep over rating the 70 Chevelle SS 454 at 450 hp. :-\
