Searched assorted combinations of ' 69 trunk filler board ' and no results. Did the 69 cars get the trunk filler board ? My 65 has one and it is held in place with two large Phillips head screws into the sheet metal. No evidence this method was used in my 69 FB. Brian

Yes there was one used (on the drivers side) but unlike the 65-67 Ford changed mid way (well approx ;) in 67 to a heavy cardboard design that had "wings" that folded down ward and sort of held itself in place Since this is the 69-70 section would mention it was also installed on 70's without the Calif emission systems
-
Thanks Jeff. Never seen one before and does explain the absence of screw holes. A search ' 69 trunk underlayment ' did show a 70 with a partial pic. Brian

Either I or someone will post a picture of one installed - lots of pictures to go through and I often won't fold back a mat
Pictures of the cardboard would be available on NPD or Virigina sites (or should be ) but would only show the panel flat with out the "wings" extended

Here is a picture (happens to be a 68 example but the same piece) of a very very nice original

Thanks for posting the picture. You know that adage " a thousand words " I could not figure out how the ' wings ' worked. I Was looking at some catalog pictures of the filler board and was disappointed to see that they don't seem to be configured correctly and also have neglected to put the slot in for the metal ridge on the wheel house. Brian

I dont know if the slot was originally on the boards from what I have seen. Here is pictures of what I think is an original and reproduction side by side. And also a close up of the material as well.

Thank you Marcus. Appears the after market piece is a fairly accurate reproduction. Brian

Double checked and the example I posted is a 67-68 :( gave the wings and the material - just not the original shape

Related question / clarification...
I have a '70 Cougar with CA emissions (Oct '69, Dearborn car). So I should not (and do not currently) have a driver's side filler board. But should I have a passenger side filler board?
It seems that all the kits include a pair / set.
Thanks!

Correct - since there is no room for it with the base plate and all the vents and hoses as well as the taillight sequencer
But should I have a passenger side filler board?

Correct - one on the passenger side - unlike the Mustangs. Likely due to the different mounting location of the spare tire

Brian, not to get off topic here, but are those rubber insulators behind the nuts for the side marker light original?
-
Yes they are. NOT OE. I put them on there just because. Good eye. Brian
