Perhaps a seemingly trivial detail, yet does anyone have a close-up picture of installed door lock cylinders? I'm looking for good pictures showing how the gasket between the cylinder & door fits. Specifically, I'd like to know how much of the gasket can be seen around the circumference of the lock once the lock is installed. I have one gasket which I believe is NOS and it looks like it's slightly more than ~1/32" (not quite 1/16") larger in dia than the face of the S.S. lock cylinder.
Also, are these gaskets supposed to be more like soft, flet-like material or hard like plastic? Looks like all the repro stuff is hard plastic and way too thick (IMO). Thus far I haven't been able to find a source for new gaskets that look like the one NOS example I have.

No gaskets used on door locks, only trunk lock

Thank you... I did not realize that. When I removed the original lock cylinders there were thin gaskets behind them, so I assumed gaskets were supposed to be there. Perhaps a previous owner added them.
I am also working on the trunk lock as well, so for that application do you know if the lock cylinder gasket is made of a hard plastic or a soft, flexible felt-like material?
