Title: Comfortweave on front bench
Post by: tim_morrison82 on January 09, 2013, 09:45:05 PM
Hi,

Were all 68 bench seats comfortweave?

My car is a parchment bench option, and it also calls up comfortweave on the marti.

My original bench was removed and i have another to put back in, and it is missing the cw inserts.

Can anyone post a pic of a bench with original cw inserts?

Does anyone have any original, nos or repro true comfort weave panels in parchment they may not be using?

Cheers

Yes you are correct that all 68 bench seats were confortweave and were only available on coupes and fastbacks. I do not think the bench seat inserts were any different than the bucket seat inserts. I have a very nice original set of parchment coupe back seat covers. I am not sure if you could get enough out of them for front seat inserts? Marty

I've got a bench seat Cal Spec down in the warehouse (for a fair amount of time now)  Think I ended up throwing a repo seat cover set on it wo/ the comfort weave because of availability years ago

So because of that here's a couple shots of someone else's original seats

I am just noticing that the repro cover and Original Cover is quite different.

the original comfortweave seems to continue down the front face of the seat base. the repro covers stop well before the front of the seat such as in your pics jeff.

another similar repro cover is the bench i currently have:

here is another pic of an original one i was sent:

Tim here is a page out of a 68 Ford sales brochure. It also clearly shows the inserts stop short of the bolster.

ok, you can see in that sketch the rear seat does continue, and the fronts stop...
