Anyone have a chart or some info on the assorted bolts used on these cars? Some bolts, mostly valve covers, oil pans and for other bolt on accessories, have particular logos stamped onto the head. Thanks, for any help. Brian

If you will buy the AMK Ford Fastener book, it goes into very thorough detail with pictures and drawings.

As mentioned you can get the assembly manual or illustrated parts guide - to determine the part number of a fastener then cross reference using the hardware book. This will provide the specifics but will not provide all the head markings as these varied from supplier to supplier and year (or less) to year
With that said some effort have been made in the past but each year, plant and model would take a long time to go through just by itself. One effort I saw attempted to collect all the hardware details for a 66 Dearborn car. As far as I know the guy got through the engine compartment and the book was a good four inches thick. This is before Max published the hardware fastener book - rewritten from a Ford version that they printed every couple of years. Have a version from the early 40's that someone reprinted 30 years ago

Thanks for the suggestions. I am actually more interested in the head markings than in the correct bolt. There does seem to be quite a variety of manufacturers for the fasteners and would not expect that they all would have been cataloged.
For the 65-66 valve cover bolt would be Sems and R&H for the 69-70 valve cover bolts. Some others I've seen are F, E, R, R&B and GL. Some logos would be for ID and some would be for the supplier. I was curious as to what some of the supplier/manufacturer names might be and if there is a source for those names ? Thanks again. Brian

As I suggested, AMK 's book has a whole chapter on SEMS, etc. and what they all mean. Ford MAY have used a particular stamped bolt, in a particular spot, and in a particular plant during a particular time frame, but you will be hard pressed to find out which.
If you order AMK's fastener kit for THAT particular location on the car, you will get ONE of the head markings that is correct but it may not be exactly the same heads that YOUR car had.
