Would you happen to have an opinion on where this decal should go on a Metuchen-built '69, built on June 5th, 1969?

Try to keep the opinions to a minimum - just sharing pictures of what I've found on unrestored cars ;)
Hope this helps - draw your own conclusion but, like the other Dearborn example, I see a pattern :)

my unrestored Metuchen 5/19/69 is in the same place as Jeffs 1st pic except about 1" lower.

My Metuchen built(2-24-69,Monday) '69 Mach 1 is also the same as the first pic, and as you described, mine is about an inch lower also. My Mach 1 is concours restored, but took pics during the resto to know where all my stickers went.
