I'm finishing up the interior on the '69 Mach 1 I've been building. It was originally Black Jade with a white interior, but the interior had been painted/dyed black when I got the car. This is a Metuchen-built car, built on June 5th, 1969.
I'm putting the interior back to the original white, and I'm having trouble figuring out what colors should be in the back seat area. The main areas I'm having trouble with:
1. Fiberglass "hockey sticks" that mount along the sides of the package tray, between the package tray and the sail panels : are they white or black?
2. 3 pieces of metal trim that attach along the top of the rear seat (this is a fixed seat, non-fold down car). These pieces run along the top of the rear seat and down the sides of the upper seat cushion. Are these pieces white or black?
3. Fiberboard package tray: should it be white or does it stay black?
I know a lot of this is difficult to visualize from a written description...would anyone happen to have any good pictures of the backseat/package tray area on a white interior/non-fold down car?

I have 2 white interior MACH 1's(one dearborn and 1 San Jose) and the hockey stick moldings and the metal strip across the back seat is painted white to match the qtr. trim panels. The metal backing for the back seat is dark charcoal metalic as is the package shelf . I repainted mine and had my paint jobber match up the color from another part that was also painted the same color. Many people make the mistake of painting these interior parts a semi gloss black and this is not correct. I hope your original package shelf is in good condition as the repop ones are total junk. Remember to use a interior type paint for the fiberboard vs. paint made for metal only. I am sure there are variations on some of these items but I believe this to be the standard.
