Title: 71,-2,-3 G.C. Judge raises concours question on 69
Post by: BillEBobb on April 22, 2012, 01:44:46 PM
A (71-73) Gold Card Judge friend of mine insists that the (hood mounted) latch bar on a '69 should be zinc dichromate plated.  I insist that it is natural. (It would seem logical that from constant contact with the latch mechanism that a zinc dichromate finish would just wear away.)

Which is correct?

From what I understand, the latch bar is zinc phosphated on '69s, switching over to zinc dichromate sometime in the '70 model year.
