Title: heater box
Post by: Stangly on April 06, 2012, 10:10:36 PM
I'm having troubles getting the defrost/heater diverter to operate smoothly.  It seems like the rubber on the edge is binding on the housing.  It will go from off to defrost but will not return.  I'm wondering about trying some lubricant or maybe armorall any thoughts?

So lub might help but would not use Armor all - its just silicon and water Stopped using it 20 years ago when it ruined a set of tire :(

Also check for clearance issues between the door/flapper and case

I have had that trouble with old boxes that warp a bit. The last one like that I trimmed a bit off the  door with a file. Marty

That's a good Idea I hadn't thought of that.  It's better after applying some armorall but still binding.

Thank you,
