Anyone happen to know the part number for the single exhaust muffler on a 72 Mach 1?
-
Ford engineering numbers that were stamped into the part or the Ford service number (used to order a replacement through a Ford parts counter)?

I will probably have to get this info this weekend! Will post photos of a 72 system and numbers for you. (A little work but you need this)

Only have the part number for the service replacements - not the originals and as Charles mentioned this would not be the same as what was on the muffler

Any information would be appreciated. I have a lead on an OE muffler for the single exhaust, but it has a "D0" prefix (part number D0ZZ-5230-M). Not sure if the same muffler was used for several years. My car is a December 71 build date. If anyone has the dimension for the OE muffler that would be very appreciated as well.
Thank you,

The system I can get the info off is from a 3/72 build car. At least it will give you conformation/comparison what is correct for your car. Bear with me -have to do between work.

Chris Long in AZ was nice enough to take the time and pull the numbers and photos from this 72 H original system off his Sprint.

You can see here the line issue parts were D1ZA for 1972.

Really have to thank Chris as ANY exhaust discussion brings up the wounds of the Wilson/Modene travesty. Chris continues to be dedicated to the cars/hobby and always goes out of his way for others!

We have all purchase WRONG parts for our cars !! I really was trying to help AVOID that happening here.
There was a time when these parts were FREE to haul away !! Now we are going through great lengths to locate things like this.
I am waiting on a UPS delivery of a Scott Fuller system as I type! BUT keep looking at the original resonator in my garage "thinking" DO I WANT TO USE THOSE?
