Title: Under hood tags
Post by: c9zx on June 12, 2011, 03:27:00 PM
What, if any, battery and coolant tags should be on 1972 351C-4V (Autolite battery, HD cooling).

Thanks, Chuck

Only have a few original examples of 72's in my collection - of those only one had a coolant decal on the radiator support and it was a very very early example.

As for the battery inspection I got them on a couple 71 and 73's so I believe there were used but since they were straight uncoated paper they likely held up poorly over the years.

Thanks Jeff. I appreciate the reply. I have the battery inspection decal with the specific gravity noted. I was wondering about the red and white "DANGER/POISON" tag on the positive battery post and the red, white, and blue "AUTO-LITE Need water only 3 times a year" wire attached tag. Also wondering about the dealer attached, blue and white "You're fully protected against anti-freeze loss" tag. Where these tag still used as late as 1972?

Thanks Again,
Chuck
