Title: Brake Caliper Castings/Markings
Post by: carguytroy on January 03, 2025, 06:20:31 PM
My basket case 1967 convertible is missing a few items and I'm still trying to gather parts. One of those parts is/are the front brake calipers. The car was built 7/1967. I'm wondering if there are any date codes on these and what if any markings I should be looking for? I see a few different items on eBay and a few other sites. I would rather buy the right thing the first time for a change so I figured I would ask the experts here. What should I bee on the look out for?

I have a 7/1967 C code car, but unfortunately it is equipped with manual drum brakes and the other came with power disc. Thanks for the help.

SO I guess you first used the search feature and looked up the two following threads and found the information lacking for your needs.

And the large major thread on early 67 Calipers

A lot of the details relate though their are differences - The reason for the "early" in the title  ;)

As for dates. Don't have a picture of a 4 piston with a date from 67 production but on earlier ones there are stamped date codes on the end of the outer section of the calipers. Need to up Date the date Code article in the Library since I only have single piston dating in there now

Well, yes sort of. I did the search, pulled up what I could see. I was looking for the info listed in the sticky where it showed changes throughout the year, but could not find it. That did not pull that up in my search. My fault. Sorry for doubling up and thank you for pointing me in the right direction.
