Title: 1986 "GT" side molding paint or decal
Post by: kammertime on September 24, 2024, 08:29:26 PM
Are the 1986 "GT" side molding letters painted or is it a decal. If painted, what is the correct paint?

Thanks,
John

The 85-86 GT Charcoal side moldings have the "GT" molded in Silver.
They usually will scrub clean. You COULD either paint or use the aftermarket decals that are available in many different colors.

Thanks for the replies.
I ordered the silver decals from graphic-express.

Well, the decals were a disaster. I tore the first one in half trying to get the backing paper off. The other one  resulted in a bunch of wrinkles and air bubbles.

So what would a close match be in a spray can? I have some light argent paint that I am considering.

Thanks,
John
