Title: 1968 Metuchen Coupe - Trunk Mat Underlayment

Was trunk mat underlayment used on 1968 Metuchen Coupe's?  Some documentation I have read says it was used BUT was dependent on the manufacturing location.

I dont think it was used.  I have a San Jose coupe here that does not have any evidence it was ever installed.
What documentation are you referring to exactly?

Not sure about the coupe specifically, but NJ did use a pad on top of fuel tank in 1968

For Mustangs and certain years I always wondered if this was related to one of the deluxe interior packages like was done on 69's
