Post by: Wanted: factory Calypso Coral 70 convert project on November 13, 2023, 02:59:31 PM
Can someone decode this seat tag for me? I was told it is Mustang seat but I do not think it is. Thanks.

Paper or metal tag?  Guessing metal

Did you find either of these two threads when you searched?

Would need to look up the base number in the MPC when I or someone else gets a chance

Try this: C8 = Decade 1960; 8 = (196)8; 65 = hardtop (a Mustang body style; 76 = convertible; 63 = Fastback); 63-100 = part of a Ford base number for a seat part (the "-" may be incorrect).
None of the seat component parts (frames, springs, etc) were stocked at dealers. They kept complete bottom sections and complete backs without upholstery in stock. They were usually kept at ford distribution centers. I got this info from a parts manager at a Ford dealership that sponsored our Mustang Club.
