Title: Door latch problem

The drivers door latching mechanism does not want to rotate for the claws to be in the open position to go around the strike pin. Someone locally told me to undo the clip from the door handle button because the length of the rod may be off. Did that but no difference. The glass is in and it's hung on the car. Not easy to get at now. Any idea what's causing this?

Took another door apart to get the latching mechanism out to view and play around with. Found the triggering piece and got the one in the car released without having to disassemble much. With the window in the up position wasn't too hard to release it. Working fine now.
