Hey all, have what I believe is a correct original fan clutch for my Feb 69 built 428 Mach 1. In the process of sending it in and had a couple questions that I?d love some help on. The fins on mine extend all the way into the center unlike the example posted on the 428 side - https://www.428cobrajet.org/id-fan-clutch (https://www.428cobrajet.org/id-fan-clutch).
Mine does have the C9ZE-B eng # on flange. Is this just a different variation of what was posted on the site potentially. Second, I'm having the clutch restored and am uncertain of how the date codes function on these. Would anyone be able suggest what I should have placed on an early Feb 69 built car?
Attached a photo of mine for ref on the fins

Here is another one identified as a C9ZE-B fan clutch. It too has the cover used on the D0 version shown in the 428 registry page you shared. It appears that the company may have had two covers, an early and a new version, and at this point we don't know when the change was made
As for the date code I would leave it off until someone figures out the dating pattern unless the original date on yours could be seen and documented, The pattern so far, looking at all of the examples, does not appear to match any of the multiple patterns we typically see unless some of the examples were misread

Believe the comment about the C9 and D0 "the thermal spring is installed in the opposite direction " based on the pictures provided there but instead just clocked differently on the cover

Perfect, thanks

The photo of the C9ZE-B on 428cobrajet.org looks like suffix C rather than B. Sort of hard to tell. Also the letter look taller than the letters on my -B clutch.
