This thread is focused on when the change over took place between the earlier steel style of the drivers side fresh air vent to the later plastic style at NJ in 1967. If you have an original car and vent please submit the car and finding (as to which style) along with the projected or real build date and identify which date your providing.
Will use this first post to collect and share what is uncovered as well as a picture of the two versions to help you identify what you find.

Given the location and the limited amount of pictures I have showing that area on examples I have pictures I have I have one example to share.
The one example just happens to be the early all metal style that you can just make out on in the picture below. From 7T02R1154xxx

Mine is plastic and the actual build date is 6/21/67

7T03A1535xx plastic- actual build date December 6th 1966

7T03T121875 built 10/5/66 (scheduled 10/10) and has the metal style vent.
