Greetings all
Any vendors out there that have the correct color 68 parchment upholstery and door panels? Set I got is too dark.
Also, does anyone know how the correct suspension paint markings for C code, San Jose, auto coupe?
Thanks

Yes for some of them we'll need to know when the car was
- really built
- PS
- AC?
- engineering numbers from your rear springs would help assure we get the right application
Think that is all the variables for that year
Guess you don't have a buildsheet as a start
Might want to prep yourself by reading the basic paint mark article in the Library section

Built 3/25/68
PS. Yes
AC. Yes
Thank you

Standard Warning About Paint Marks: As we always mentioned don't worry about paint marks unless everything else is 100% restored back to original. Nothing stands out more than a paint mark on an incorrect or incorrectly finished part. In addition for those others reading, unless your car matches this car exactly don't copy these marks. All it takes sometimes for the information to be different is a production date to be a month or so different, almost always the body, transmission or other option different and yes there are people out there that judge or are just viewing your car that will know which mark is correct or incorrect.
Ok here is what I came up with for basic marks for a 68 San Jose C code automatic coupe with AC, PS and standard suspension.
Built on 3/25/68 or around that time period
Front springs - 1 Violet & 1 Orange stripe
Front shocks - Red paint daub at the bottom attachment end
Front sway bar - Baby blue stripe around (or almost all the way around) about mid way between both mounting points
Steering
Center link - Yellow stripe around shaft
Pittman arm - Yellow stripe around arm about mid-way
Idler arm - Yellow stripe around arm about mid-way between the mounting shaft and the center link attachment point
Rear shocks - Red paint daub at the bottom attachment end
Rear springs - 1 Silver stripe at the rear end of the spring as installed. Long leaf. The only way to be more certain of these markings is to get the engineering numbers from your springs.
Information assembled from original cars and buildsheets of matching cars.
The article in the Library about basic paint marks should have examples of the locations and what the marks looked like. If you have more questions or need more examples please ask
Hope this helps.
