Title: Running Change Survey-67 Shelby amp wire clip on PS shock tower
Post by: Bossbill on November 06, 2022, 01:39:32 PM
Please see this topic:

The root of this question is the hole for the amp harness P-Clamp.

If a car has the hole for the clamp does that mean the P-Clamp MUST be installed?
Or did SAI continue to make the hole without installing the clip on later cars?

It might be an interesting topic to see approx. when the hole was first used and when they stopped drilling them (if at all). From Bob's post the inference is that early cars didn't have the hole and neither did very late cars.

Since we don't have a ton of members with 67 Shelby's I took the time and did a survey with my pictures collection and turned up what appears to be the change over period.

With that said the vast majority of cars I have from the period are restored cars so these can often include rebuilt cars or ones where they have added or deleted features based on current (when the cars were built) rules or per pressure to conform. Really an issue on cars built at either ends of a running change.

- The far left column is the completion date of the car at Shelby since this was a Shelby added hole and clip.
- The center column indicates if the car pictures are of an original car or a restored.
- The far right shows the finding. There are two general location of the hole, likely due to the worker assigned to the task the day the hole was installed. One being close to the inner froward corner of the top passenger side shock tower and the second location being approx midway between that corner and the outer forward edge of the passenger shock tower. The one example finished Jan 4 may be an example of this - only IMHO a possibility.

Hope this is helpful

Thanks, Jeff.

Yet another change peculiar to Shelbys, which I don't believe was ever documented.

#2100 has the hole.    This is not the best picture, but the only one I have in my phone right now.
